This is thin ice for me because I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to doing this
online so I hope it works out.
Our next speaker is Sylvain Alano who is from Flying Whales and his talk is The Contribution
of Solar Energy to Global Information Energy System for Cargo Airship and I see he is here
so over to you Sylvain Alano and thank you for being with us today.
I understand that you are not feeling so well so I'm glad that you are able to join us.
Thank you, thank you very much.
Dear colleagues and friends
I would have preferred to be with you at Nenberg but it was not possible
for me.
So Christophe proposed to me to have my presentation on live.
So first point
I would like to provide you news from Flying Whales.
So there are good news because during the last summer there has been a public investigation.
Such public investigations are done for each big industrial project.
It was not so easy for us because we were challenged by environmental organizations
and we had to work on many many ecological issues but we addressed them and the good
news is that we have obtained the authorization to realize our final assembly line.
So let's just a moment.
Do you see the document?
Okay.
So it's now possible for us to launch the manufacturing and the building project just
this fall.
Our teams are ready with our industrial partners.
So we are going to build in the Bordeaux region in a small community called Laruscade
our first final assembly line.
You see in the artist's view the two hangars and there are 250 meters long and 70 meters
high.
So the shape of this hangar is totally original and you see the air dock system with rails.
Okay.
So for us it's very important because our project was being delayed.
We had a one year delay.
It could have been critical for the financing of the project but now with the ability to
launch the industrial activity it's very good news for us.
But after that I would like to present you our initial works on the contribution of solar
energy for the LCA.
As you may know we have designed a cargo airship with a 60 tons payload.
It's a long journey because we started in 2012.
But it was necessary to revisit all the technologies that had been already
emerging
developed for a long time in the field of rigid airships.
And for the cargo airship we also studied all that had been done.
For example in the cargo project.
But also many people worked on such cargo airships.
There is a state of the art.
But our challenge is to transform the state of the art and the new technologies that
will be on board into an industrial and realistic project.
This is the challenge.
At the beginning of the project we studied all kinds of energy propulsion opportunities.
Of course solar.
